i want 2 B

Self-DevelopmentPosted by John Vanek Sun, June 07, 2009 15:14:22

I have to be one of those people who believes everything is possible, anything is achievable.

Anything is possible, all is achievable but you have to apply the methodologies which make the achievable come to life in the world. And I'll use anything - anything that doesn't clash with my values, my beliefs and my faith.

I'll read every book, every self-development mentor, every Mosaic tablet, every book of the Bible, every holy book of the great religions, every man-made technique, every insight from every kind of source.

What would it be like to spend a week or better, a month with Richard Branson? What would it be like to get into the mindset of a great achiever? What do these guys do to get their lives on track, to bring their plans to light, to bring their great dreams to fruition? People like Branson are the civil engineers of high achievement. They are Isambard Kingdom Brunels of the fabulous project. They do not fail. And if they do, they use failure as a a lever to rise up again. You can't build a monument without a monumental plan, a monumental hope, a monumental desire. They themselves are living monuments to their own dreams.

There are books to help us. Techniques to guide us. And in the age of the internet, most of this stuff is free. The amazing principles of Charles Haanel and 'The Master Key System', for example. Techniques for manifesting your hopes, dreams and desires.

It seems that the trick is to give the universe, the master force, precise instructions. If you desire a partner with dark hair and blues eyes, ask the universe, ask God to grant your desire - but ask with precision. Dark hair, blue eyes...what else? Be precise. It's your conscious mind that creates and gives the instructions but it's your subconscious, your solar plexus that actively makes these desire come to life in the real world. The real world that is shaped by your new reality. You make your own world.

Going to the Well

Self-DevelopmentPosted by John Vanek Sun, May 03, 2009 11:30:10

Go to the well and draw water from the well. Locate your well first and foremost. Dig for your well. You may have to dig deep, so dig deep for your well.

Your source determines your stance. Stand in the visible light.

Just for the record, Skin Care directs you to a subscription website skinsoshapely.com

It's my first attempt at a subscription or membership website and I thought I'd give it go. Updates are onstream as the site gets added to and modified.

The Calibrated Day

Self-DevelopmentPosted by John Vanek Sat, February 14, 2009 13:19:21

Calibrate a perfect day. A perfect day: simply by being aware of the day's majesty. The awe-inspiring wonder of daybreak, the perfection of the rain, the devotion of the leaves, the reverence of the trees, the abiding attention of nature. The wakefulness of the animals, the rhythms of the day, the drama of unfolding, the awesome symphony of sunset and the darkling skies.

Nature can do this, nature can achieve this, a calibration of dynamic perfection, the movements of a drama as it unfolds. Could we ever plan a day as perfect? Could we ever spell out just one plan for one perfect day? Could we ever listen enough, could we ever be attentive enough to understand just something about the elements of putting together a single day? A single day with purposive unity, a single day of serene movement, a single day of achievement? The conductor moves his arms in recognition of the movement of the music, but he didn't write the music. Perhaps we could write the music, learn it, live with it then conduct it to put together the orchestral components that make the music come alive and mean something to ourselves and to others. The periodic table, the table of elements. The science of understanding. The dance of the universe, the pulsating energy beyond sound, beyond silence.

Be discontent

Self-DevelopmentPosted by John Vanek Sun, February 01, 2009 21:35:40
Be discontent. Be fabulously discontented. Kick against the pricks. Allow no wool to be pulled over your eyes. Review everything. Nothing's written in stone. Overthrow the status quo if what you've got is better. Don't allow others to rule or fool you. Kick against the pricks. Stay ahead of the game. Review the gameplan. Change the game if need be. Intervene. Reshape. Reform. Rebuild.

Now we have a plan

Self-DevelopmentPosted by John Vanek Sun, January 18, 2009 16:14:26

The stepping stones are clearly visible. They lie in front of us. The stepping stones are the visible signs of our conscious plan, a plan that exists because we choose to live by a plan. Finally, we chose to live by a plan and have a plan to live by. Finally, we decided to chart a course to navigate, to set our sail by the stars.

Why didn't we do this before? Did we simply wish to bob around in the current? Or were we part of a larger convey whose direction we accepted, never questioning that our ship might have a journey of its own?

Now we have the journey. We have the plan. We have stars to navigate by, we can set a course.

Tonight the sky is beautiful. The air is crisp and full of promise. Let's go, let's set sail on our voyage.
